Spiritual People Have Rights

- You have the right to set boundaries and not be considered hard, harsh, judgmental or unspiritual, uptight or "kinasty"
- You have the right to not be perfect
- You have the right to say no when you need to conserve your resources and limited energy and still be spiritual
- You have the right to say "stop abusing me," and remove abusive people from your life
- You have the right to have a drink responsibly and still set boundaries around people in your life suffering from addiction
- You have the right to date, make love, respect your body and the bodies of others, and still be considered spiritual
- You have the right to be yourself and still be considered spiritually serious
- You have the right to express yourself, including saying FUCK if that's what you need in a bad moment, without judgement
- You have the right to get angry, feel rage and process it
- You have the to advocate for yourself, speak out about social justice issues and work for justice
We don’t just have the right, we often have the obligation…
Being spiritual doesn't disqualify us from the human experience. It's about living for something bigger, treating ourselves and others with respect, facing change, and knowing when to acknowledge and take responsibility for mistakes. We're not perfect. But, we hold the hands of those who are suffering (as we are called and physically / emotionally qualified and able). We respect ourselves and move ahead towards personal progress. We commit to love but aren't never going to be perfect. Leaders are spiritual. They are open. They work on themselves and take others along in the journey.
